A Crooked Kind of Perfect
In a culture where perfection is everything this story breaks the mold. Our main character, a young girl named Zoe, learns that not everything always has to be perfect. Young girls especially will identify with the struggle of Zoe as told in A Crooked Kind of Perfect. They will realize that they have to be themselves, not what society tells them to be. They need to set goals for themselves and make their own kind of perfection. This story also exemplifies the evaluation criteria of setting by telling Zoe’s story through showing normal settings that readers can identify with such a school, local competitions, and a regular family home.
