Dave the Potter: Artist, Poet, Slave

Readers reading this story will follow a humble potter. This gentleman is also a slave. Through his story readers will learn how African American people were treated as well as how they lived their lives. Dave, the main character, is a real person. As the reader will learn through this story, he was a real potter and a real poet. As readers will know, Dave’s accomplishments are amazing, knowing the time that he was alive in. This story is told in lyrical form and is very poetic. Some of Dave’s actual poems are in the book. Writing the story in this way will entertain readers of all kinds. The pictures are amazingly detailed and really bring the reader into the story.
