Out of My Mind
Out of My Mind is a story that will touch the heart of all readers with its beautiful characters and its gripping real life story. The main character Melody is trying to let everyone around her know that she has more inside than they think, but she is trapped in a body that has betrayed her. Readers will be able to connect with this character, as well as many of the others as Melody fights throughout the story to be heard, not as a child with a disability, but as a child with something to say and smarts in her head. This book also exemplifies the evaluation criteria of theme by showing the reader that everyone is not as they may seem on the outside. Through the theme of this book readers will learn to treat others as they would like to be treated and that just because you have some challenges does not mean that you are less of a person.
